Flamenco Mojo
About the Band
Flamenco Mojo is a mostly instrumental duo that consists of two guitarist born out of the band Dream and the Dreamer. Lead vocalist and guitarist Ray Laflin, although known for his blazing vocals and searing lead guitar, has returned to his roots in the acoustic relm. This time exploring the depths of Spanish Style Flamenco Guitar and breaking away from his taxing vocal regiment, transitioning to original instrumentals that let the guitar do the singing, but not resisting the creative lyrical expression of an occasional Spanish chorus. The Bassist for D&D, Garth Brooks, has picked up his nylon string guitar once again and rejoined with the Rhumba Rhythms and Cadences that formerly blessed many a fan throughout the Sierra Foothills and beyond. Originally born out of the band Last Caravan, Garth found his way to a creative collaboration with Ray that's taken them both far beyond the rockin sounds of D&D, although they still entertain thousands of fans every year with there unique blend of covers and original Latin, Funk, R&B, Rock and Blues Dance music, this new project projects the nuences and excitment the two have been needing to express and has enabled them share there deepest of passion for music. When a band situation arises and dancing becomes a centerpeice of the show, Brian Waag and Kit Bailey join in for additional percussion, drums and keyboard elements.
